Arsenal regular says he will leave Gunners for ‘best club in the world’

An Arsenal first-team regular has stated he will be exiting the Emirates once his deal expires this summer and play his football elsewhere.

Spanish playmaker Dani Ceballos is currently enjoying his second loan spell at the Gunners.

However, the 24-year-old says he will not be staying on for a third term.

Instead, he plans to crack the first team at parent club Real Madrid.

Speaking to Cadena SER, Ceballos said: “A third year on loan? No, my goal is to return to Real Madrid and be important at the best club in the world.

“I believe that one day I will come back and be able to return the affection that the fans showed me.

“For various reasons, I didn’t leave the club in the best manner.”

The Spain international posted a number of controversial Catalan-related tweets in his younger days while at the Bernabeu, prompting angry responses, per Give Me Sport.

Eventually, Ceballos joined Arsenal on a season-long loan from Madrid ahead of the 2019/20 season.

He went on the win the FA cup with the Gunners before agreeing to spend another year at the club.

Ceballos likes Arteta’s style

Ceballos went on to state how much he admires boss Mikel Arteta’s method of management.

“Mikel is a coach who suits me like a glove because he played in the same position as me,” he said.

“He wants us to play forward when we steal [the ball]. The Premier League is a bit below at a tactical level but it is more physical.

“The position of a number eight is the one that suits me best.”

Ceballos has played 43 times under the stewardship of Arteta, although he has only scored and assisted once.

He will hope his manager gives him the nod this weekend when the Gunners take on Newcastle United in the third round of the FA Cup.
