Chance of transfer grows, as Spurs learn striker’s drastic knock-down fee

Tottenham still hold a serious interest in Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, whose chances of a January exit from the Italian club have grown, according to a report.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho made clear his desire to sign a striker in the recent transfer window. Indeed the Portuguese was desperate to find support for – and ease the burden – on Harry Kane.

Several players were on Tottenham’s radar, including Milik and Wout Weghorst of Werder Bremen.

And while Spurs eventually opted to sign Carlos Vinicius on an initial loan deal, Area Napoli claims Poland international Milik remains on the north London club’s radar.

Napoli’s demands for their striker were too high for Spurs in the recent transfer window.

However, the source says that Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is ready to sell him for between €7million (£6.3million) and €8million (£7.2million).

The Serie A side made Milik surplus to requirements with the recent signing of Victor Osimhen. Indeed, the Nigerian has begun the season brightly, with one goal and one assist in four games.

As such, Milik has reportedly been ‘training alone’ and watches his side’s matches from home.

What’s more, the forward has grown ‘tired’ of his situation and has ordered his agent to find him a new club.

And while Milik could wait to become a free agent in June, he feels determined to get his career back on track as soon as possible.

Spurs’ options make Milik deal unlikely

Carlos Vinicius TEAMtalk

Spurs have the option to buy Vinicius from Benfica at the end of the season, which currently looks likely.

Vinicius notched two assists in Thursday’s 3-0 Europa League win over LASK. Indeed that was his debut for Spurs, a promising sign for Mourinho going forward.

As such, it is unlikely that Spurs would sanction a deal for another target if Vinicius’ form continues.
