Chelsea and Liverpool target Timo Werner ‘having English lessons’ and is ‘excited’ by prospect of Premier League move

Timo Werner is reportedly taking English classes to boost his knowledge of the language before he completes an ‘exciting’ move to the Premier League.

The RB Leipzig striker is one of the most in-demand players in world football following his meteoric rise with the Bundesliga side, with Chelsea and Liverpool understood to leading the race for his signature.

But according to  Bleacher Report, Werner is honing his linguistic skills as a move to England becomes increasingly likely.

Anfield seems the most likely destination, with the 24-year-old praising Klopp and his swashbuckling Reds at every opportunity.

“Yes I know that Liverpool is the best team in the moment in the world and when you’re linked with the team, it makes me very proud,” he told Viasport in February.

“In case of that, it’s a pleasure, but I know that in Liverpool play a lot of good players and I have to improve myself to learn much more things to get on this level to play there.”

Werner reportedly has a £51million release clause in his contract which runs until 2023.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is also on the hunt for a striker this summer and according to Kicker, Stamford Bridge chiefs are very serious about signing the German frontman and have made ‘direct contact’ with the Bundesliga club.
