Hakim Ziyech has confirmed he will join Chelsea on July 1, as planned.
Ziyech agreed to move to the Blues earlier this year and was set to link up with the west Londoners before the start of next season.
However, doubts have been raised over this summer’s transfer window because on the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with FIFA recommending player contracts are extended to the end of the 2019/20 season – whenever that is.
But Ziyech says he will be a Chelsea player on July 1 with the ongoing football season in the Netherlands ended earlier this week.
“After I signed the contract that was it – on July 1, I am a Chelsea player. I haven’t given it another thought,” Ziyech told AD.
“It’s nice for me to have some clarity. Nobody knows exactly what will happen to the transfer market. Clubs will be more anxious to attract players for large transfer fees.”
Chelsea are lining up a move for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana with the stopper said to be available in the summer for £25m.
Frank Lampard is ready to sell club-record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer after he failed to impress during the club legend’s first season in charge.
The Sun say Chelsea are now keen on Onana who has enjoyed four impressive seasons at Ajax and is still only 24 years old.

Chelsea were in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Alisson Becker before he joined Liverpool.

Alisson then joined Liverpool from Roma in 2018 for £67million while Courtois left Chelsea for Real Madrid.
Roma are interested in signing Chelsea winger Pedro this summer, Corriere dello Sport claim.
The Spaniard, 32, will be a free agent in the summer so will not cost the Italian club a penny if they sign him.
Pedro signed moved to Stamford Bridge in 2015, winning a Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League title.
Chelsea ace Jorginho says fan boos spurred him on to do better at Stamford Bridge.
The Italian midfielder told FourFourTwo: “Last year, fans were picking on me a lot because I’d arrived with another manager and, in my opinion, I ended up hearing some things that were honestly unfair.
“But I’ve never challenged the views of the fans and other people who criticised me. Quite the opposite, actually – it gave me strength because inside I knew they were wrong.
“Deep in my mind, it was like this: ‘I’m going to prove they’re wrong and work quietly like I’ve always done, because it’s never been easy for me’.
“I’ve gone through moments like this at every club I’ve played for – this low moment when doubt can come and make you wonder, ‘Should I just leave this place? Maybe there isn’t room for me here.
“But I embrace this kind of challenge, and I’ve never backed down. It gives me more strength to work even harder, to prove to everyone that I can make it.”
Willian, Olivier Giroud and Pedro
Joe Cole has told Chelsea to copy Manchester United and keep three of their biggest names from leaving when their contracts expire.
Willian, Olivier Giroud and Pedro are all set to exit Stamford Bridge later this year.
Ex-England playmaker Cole told The Sun: “We’ve credited the young players at Chelsea because they’ve come through, burst onto the scene and been amazing.
“But Giroud, Willian and Pedro are three top class players who have been really massive for the club, particularly Willian, who’s a club legend, the players and the fans love him.
“I hope they can hang onto that experience – if they want to be part of this new, exciting team that they’re building.
“They can use that experience in the same way that Manchester United hung onto Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary and Phil Neville.
“If they can accept that role where they’re coming in – that they might not play as much as they used to but they’re helping blood an era which could be as good as any era in the club’s history – then there’s a role to play for all of them.
“I think they’re all world class players and it would be tough for any club to replace those three.”
Chelsea have reportedly ‘opened talks’ with Real Madrid over a deal for Achraf Hakimi as Frank Lampard steps up his search for a new full-back this summer.
The Morocco international has impressed on his two-year loan with Borussia Dortmund, especially this campaign, scoring three goals and adding ten assists in 23 Bundesliga matches.
According to The Mirror, Lampard is an admirer of Hakimi, who can be deployed as both a right or left-back or as a winger and is keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Bolstering his left-back options is now high on Lampard’s list of priorities, with neither Emerson Palmieri or Marcos Alonso doing enough to convince the Blues boss they are a long-term option.
Willian wants to stay in the Premier League if he leaves Chelsea this summer with London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham reportedly keen.
The Brazil winger will see his Blues contract expire later this year and ESPN claim that he will not sign new terms in west London.
But the 31-year-old is looking to remain in the capital putting Arsenal and Tottenham on alert.
Willian has scored 59 goals in 329 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Anzhi Makhachkala for £30million in August 2013.
Karim Benzema has taken aim at Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in an astonishing outburst.
The Real Madrid star said on a live Instagram video with YouTuber Mohamed Henni: “You shouldn’t confuse F1 and go karting and that’s me being kind. On to the next topic. I’m not talking about him [Giroud] anymore. I just know that I’m F1.
“He has his career, he does what he wants and scores the goals that he wants to score. He’s in his corner and I’m in mine; I’m not thinking about him. If we’re talking about playing style, his suits France well.
“It’s good because there are fast players like Mbappe and Griezmann who play out wide or feed off the centre-forward. When Giroud is up front, he’s a handful for defences, which gives the other two plenty of space to show what they can do.
“He occupies defenders and it works. It might not be brilliant to watch and you won’t say, ‘Wow, that was incredible.’ Does everyone like that style of play? I don’t know, but it suits France well.”
Chelsea have been linked with a shock move for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
The Blues are reportedly looking for a new stopper in the summer due to the increasing frustration with Kepa Arrizabalaga.
German outlet Bild report that Chelsea will try and offload Kepa at the end of the season and replace him with Neuer.
Bayern and Germany legend Neuer, 34, is said to be considering quitting the Bundesliga giants because they have agreed a deal to sign Schalke’s Alexandre Nubel.
The World Cup winner has 18 months left on his contract with the German club and would end a nine season spell in Munich where he has won seven league titles and the Champions League.
Juan Mata has revealed how he persuaded Chelsea to convince them to let him join Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Mata told UTD Podcast: “When Manchester United called and they said ‘We’re going to go for you and make an offer to Chelsea, we want you to come’, I spoke with them.
“I really wanted to go and really wanted to feel what it is to be a Manchester United player.
“I had suffered playing against United with Chelsea and they are definitely one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“I spoke to Chelsea and said: ‘Listen, there is this offer. It’s also good money and you can sign another player, because I’m telling you so that you have time to sign another player. I’m not playing a lot and want to take this opportunity. It’s perfect for everyone.’ So it happened.”
