Euro Paper Talk: Arteta to gamble Arsenal future on big-money deal for unwanted Real Madrid man; Liverpool interest in Atletico star confirmed

Mikel Arteta is ready to roll the dice and sign a costly Real Madrid man for Arsenal in January, Liverpool interest in an Atletico star has been confirmed, while Man Utd have cooled their bid to sign a France defender, according to Monday’s Euro Paper Talk.

Zinedine Zidane is pushing Isco towards the exit door at Real Madrid – and a move to Arsenal is looking increasingly likely.

The 28-year-old playmaker has been at the Bernabeu since a 2013 move from Malaga and has made 316 appearances for Los Blancos.

However, Isco has appeared in just nine games so far – many of which have come as a late substitute. Indeed, Isco has been limited to just 13 minutes of Champions League football so far this season.

Having expressed his frustrations to Zidane over his situation, it seems a parting of ways in January is now inevitable.

As per Marca, Zidane is hoping to cash in on the midfielder in the January window.

With 18 months left on his current deal, Real know the time to sell is now. As such, the report claims they will seek a fee of around €30m for the player.

And Defensa Central suggest it is Arsenal who will sign the player next. The Spanish outlet claims Mikel Arteta wants Isco to end Arsenal’s search for more creativity.

The club tried, and failed, to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon over the summer. But the capture of Isco, while still quite pricey, could go some distance to solving the issues Arsenal face.

Isco’s agent has also opened the door on a January move to Arsenal.

The report suggests Arsenal could look to sign Isco on loan with an obligation to pay €30m for him in the summer.

For Arteta, it could prove a last roll of the dice. The Gunners boss is facing increasing scrutiny over his future after their worst start in 40 years.

A damaging report has claimed he is no longer speaking to a senior Arsenal star, though that’s since been denied.
