Euro Paper Talk: Chelsea look to steal wonderkid bound for Man Utd; Inter chase top Leeds midfield target

Chelsea are looking to beat Manchester United to the signing of an Ecuador wonderkid, while Inter Milan are after a midfielder who was chased by Leeds over the summer – all in the latest Euro Paper Talk.

BLUES JOIN RACE FOR ECUADOR WONDERKID

Chelsea have reportedly joined the race to sign Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo, who has looked destined to join Manchester United.

The 19-year-old has been attracting interest from across Europe, with United showing a particular interest.

Indeed, reports on Wedndesday claimed the Red Devils were close to a £4.5million deal for the Independiente del Valle star.

However, fresh claims have emerged that Chelsea scouts have also been following the player’s progress.

It is claimed that Stamford Bridge intermediaries have ‘held discussions’, as they plot their own bid for the teenage star.

Despite his tender age, Caicedo has already won four senior caps for Ecuador. He is considered as one of the top young talents in South American football.

There has also been interest from other Premier League clubs, namely Newcastle and Brighton.

However, United remain the favourites to secure his signature at this stage. Caicedo has previously admitted that he is a United fan and ‘dreams’ of playing for them.

But it would appear that Chelsea will not let their Premier League rivals win the race without a fight.

Frank Lampard is constantly on the lookout for fresh recruits, and likes what his scouts are telling him about Caicedo.
