Liverpool will look to quickly conduct the transfer out of Anfield of a midfield star in January, a LaLiga giant want Mason Mount, while Inter Milan have spoken to Bayern Munich over a swap deal, according to Tuesday’s Euro Paper Talk.
WIJNALDUM SALE TO BARCELONA GATHERS PACE
Liverpool are looking to offload Georginio Wijnaldum in January, with a move to Barcelona looking increasingly likely.
Wijnaldum was heavily linked with a move to Barca this summer, but the interest never got “serious”, according to the player.
“It is true he was on my list,” said Koeman to NOS, via Marca.
Wijnaldum though opted to stay, despite the arrival of Thiago Alcantara.
However, with Wijnaldum’s deal due to expire in June, Mundo Deportivo state a January move to Barcelona is looking ‘increasingly likely’.
The newspaper states Liverpool plan to ‘sell fast’ and for ‘cheap’ when the winter window opens in order to avoid losing him for free.
While no price is placed on the midfielder, it’s previously suggested a deal as little as €10m could be enough to persuade Liverpool to sell.
Under the headline, ‘Bargains in January’, Mundo Deportivo also state Wijnaldum is one of three players who could arrive.
They state Koeman’s side will also go back in for Lyon’s Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia of Manchester City.
All three see their current deals expire at the same time and it’s claimed the trio could each be obtained for a bargain price.
