Euro Paper Talk: Talks underway as Man Utd near triple transfer agreement; big name targets Arsenal job

Manchester United are close to three deals which many believe will benefit the club hugely, a big-name coach wants the Arsenal job, while Tottenham are targeting an exciting Argentine star, according to Tuesday’s Euro Paper Talk.

Manchester United are near to announcing the departures of three of their players, according to reports.

The most high-profile of these will be the exit of Paul Pogba. That comes after his agent Mino Raiola revealed Pogba was “unhappy” at United and “has to change teams in January”.

Now reports in the Italian media claim Pogba is close to agreeing a return to Juventus. Juve are reported to have agreed a loan-to-buy deal with the France star joining on a January loan.

That arrangement will see Juventus pay €5m to sign Pogba now. That will also include a guaranteed €50m to make the move permanent in the summer.

All that’s left for Pogba to agree is a small salary cut. That, however, is not expected to be an enormous issue with Pogba looking to get out at United.

To that end, it now appears certain his United career is over and it’s debatable if he will ever be seen in their colours again.

Commenting on the prospects of the deal, transfer intermediary Ivan Reggiani explained all to Calciomercato.

“Even his teammates in England think that Pogba can return to Juventus. The operation is well underway, it will be for around €50m plus some important bonuses,” Reggiani said.

“The usual onerous loan with outright acquisition next year, these should be details. The salary, on the other hand, should remain the same or, perhaps, a little something can be removed.

“Pogba was not happy in England, he started to throw a tantrum. It was a bad marriage from the beginning, there were serious problems.

“I think this operation is ready for January. If Juventus wants to aim for the Champions League they must strengthen in the winter transfer market.”

Lingard and Romero also set to depart

Pogba won’t be the only departure at United this winter, with Jesse Lingard and Sergio Romero also nearing exits.

According to Don Balon, Lingard has now agreed terms with Real Sociedad over a January loan switch. The midfielder has fallen down the pecking order and made just two League Cup appearances this season.

A move to the La Liga title contenders would suit all parties and could be made permanent should he impress.

United are also close to letting goalkeeper Romero leave.

According to reports, the club have placed a modest £2m on the Argentine’s head. That price is expected to attract a number of offers from the continent, while MLS clubs could also make their move.

The 33-year-old has not played a minute for United this season and has been relegated to fourth choice.
