Inter prepare enticing financial package to lure ruthless Prem marksman

Inter Milan are eyeing up a summer swoop for all-time Premier League great Sergio Aguero ahead of his impending free agent availability.

The Man City striker has been one of the most capable and consistent finishers in world football for the last decade.

A whopping 254 goals have been notched in 370 appearances for the club. The most famous of which was his memorable last-gasp winner that sealed the club’s first Premier League title in 2012.

But at 32, murmurings of an exit have begun to swirl amid continued struggles with injury.

The Argentine has just one year remaining on his current deal at The Etihad, and online publication Goal cite Italian reports that state the club are ‘already looking to sign his replacement.’

Aguero remains an elite performer, however, and will have no shortage of suitors for his signature.

One such option could come from Italy. Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan are reportedly preparing a financial package to lure Aguero to Serie A.

The Goal article notes that Inter are hopeful of acquiring the lethal forward on a free transfer next summer. To do so, the club are prepared to offer Aguero a ‘two-year contract with an option for a third’.

Furthermore, a ‘salary of around €8 million (£7m/$9m) per season’ would be in the works.

Aguero is currently sidelined after undergoing knee surgery in June. He previously made clear his desire to return to Argentina before his career ends.

Despite his age, Aguero’s talents remain undiminished. A stint in another top European league first could be seen as a viable step before returning home.

De Bruyne provides Man City future update

De Bruyne Man City TEAMtalk

Meanwhile, Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne says he has not yet spoken to the club about a new contract. However, he would be open to extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium.

The Belgium international, who will be in the side to play England at Wembley on Sunday, has been a key part of City’s success over the last few years and has won a host of club honours and individual awards.

He has two-and-a-half years to run on his current deal and reports suggest he is poised to extend that. A new deal could see him commit his future to City until the end of his career.

De Bruyne said nothing is imminent, but did tell City he is happy to discuss terms.
