Leverkusen boss hints at Havertz transfer mindset amid Chelsea links

Bayer Leverkusen head coach Peter Bosz says there are currently no telltale signs that Kai Havertz wants a move away from the club.

Havertz, 21, is one of Europe’s most promising young talents having made 146 appearances for Leverkusen already.

What’s more, he has impressed in the final part of the Bundesliga season, scoring six goals in six games.

As such, reports claim Chelsea want the midfielder as part of their exciting summer of spending.

The Blues have already signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner ahead of a promising new campaign under Frank Lampard.

However, Bosz insists that, as yet, Havertz has shown no signs of wanting to leave.

“I certainly don’t have the impression that this will be his last game for the club,” Bosz told reporters (via the Daily Express).

“He is still under contract with us and I have to assume that he will be with us next season too.

“That will include the German Cup Final next month and the next Europa League game against Rangers in August.

“Of course, that’s all dependent on nothing happening before then.”

Werner, meanwhile, will miss what remains of RB Leipzig’s Champions League campaign to join on July 1.

Ajax star Ziyech will move on the same date, after Dutch authorities decided to void the Eredivisie season.

Reports also claim Chelsea want Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell.

The left flank is a problem area for Lampard, who is unsure on Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri in the role.

Elsewhere, former Blues striker Chris Sutton has told TEAMtalk that Chelsea’s recent transfer activity will ramp up the pressure on Lampard.

As well as their recent signings, the West London club defeated Manchester City to hand Liverpool the title.

And Sutton claims Chelsea will have to hit the ground running next season with their new-look attack.
