Liverpool house-hunting complete as Bayern star nears four-year deal

Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has reportedly found a property in Liverpool and waved goodbye to some of his colleagues as he prepares for a move to Anfield.

Several reports have linked Liverpool with a move for the 29-year-old, who will likely leave Bayern this summer.

Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that he will entertain a “fair offer” for the player, with head coach Hansi Flick backing Thaigo to succeed in the Premier League.

Indeed, with Thiago’s current terms expiring next summer, Bayern will likely sell up to earn a respectable fee. Previous speculation has claimed that Bayern would want at least €30million (£27million) for the player.

Reports earlier this week said Liverpool have opened initial negotiations with the German champions about a deal.

Now, journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi (via Twitter) says Liverpool and Bayern have an agreement over a four-year contract.

What’s more, Thiago has reportedly said goodbye to some of his teammates as he gears up for a move away.

And the midfielder has also found a property in Liverpool, with the deal inching closer to completion.

The journalist adds that it is now in Bayern’s hands to finalise the deal.

Meanwhile, Munich-based journalist Patrick Strasser has offered his insight into the deal.

He told talkSPORT: “I think [the move will go through] yeah, he definitely wants to, and it’s just a matter of how many millions Bayern want to earn from this player.

“It’s said they want to make about €30m to €40m this transfer and I’m not sure if Liverpool can afford that or want to pay that.

“But Jurgen Klopp is desperate and keen to get Thiago in his squad. Thiago has already said goodbye to his teammates in Munich and the bosses know he’s going to leave. It’s just a matter of money, in the end.”

Reports have indicated throughout that Thiago and Liverpool boss Klopp have a mutual affection for one another.

Klopp is aware of the Spaniard’s talents having seen his Borussia Dortmund stars play against him. What’s more, Klopp watched on as Liverpool and Bayern faced off in last season’s Champions League.

Thiago, meanwhile, reportedly feels a move to Liverpool would be the perfect next step for his career.
