Long time Leeds target hints at future intentions with ‘change’ comment

Serie A midfielder Rodrigo De Paul has given the clearest indication yet of where his future lays after his latest comments in the Italian press.

Leeds drew universal acclaim for their impressive start to the current campaign.

10 points were accrued from their first four league matches, including a point in a pulsating draw with Man City.

The going has proved more difficult since, with four defeats to their name in their last six.

Their last match with West Ham produced perhaps the club’s most underwhelming performance since their return to the top flight.

With questions remaining over the viability of Bielsa’s methods over a full season at elite level, one sure-fire way to boost morale would be in the form of a January splash.

The club were heavily linked with Udinese playmaker Rodrigo De Paul in the summer, though a deal ultimately did not materialise.

A recent report even detailed just how close the club came to pulling off the blockbuster deal.

Regardless, the club have recently been urged to revive their pursuit – providing one condition is met.

Now, according to Italian outlet CalcioMercato (via Goal) the situation has seemingly become clearer over where the star’s future lays.

They cite De Paul as saying: “I know Udinese is not PSG, but why change?

“It’s hard to find a more comfortable place like this,”

His comments certainly don’t sound like those from a man angling for a move, meaning Leeds may have to turn their attentions elsewhere in the search for January reinforcements.
