New winger out to transform Man Utd attack with two exciting traits

Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri says that he hopes his pace and ability with the ball will serve him well at Old Trafford.

The 18-year-old completed a move to United from Atletico Penarol on deadline day last week. The Uruguayan will wear the No 28 shirt and features in his side’s Champions League squad.

Pellistri was one of two young wingers to sign for the Red Devils last Monday. However Amad Traore, also 18, will move to Manchester from Serie A side Atalanta in January.

As such, Pellistri told United’s official website about his plans to showcase his ability to his teammates and coaches alike.

“I’m very excited to sign because Manchester United is one of the best clubs in history,” the winger said. “I’m really happy to be here.

“I would describe myself as a fast player who likes to be in touch with the ball and provide assists for my team-mates.

“I’m really excited to link up and to learn from (attacking players like (Mason) Greenwood, (Anthony) Martial and (Marcus) Rashford).”

Having struggled throughout last season, Greenwood, Martial and Rashford formed a formidable partnership towards the end of the campaign.

The trio have also shown promise this term but it is defensive issues that have plagued the Red Devils so far.

Indeed United conceded three in their opening Premier League game against Crystal Palace. What’s more, they could have conceded more had Brighton not hit the post three times.

The problems have continued, however, with Tottenham putting six past Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s men in their last match.

Reports on Monday claimed that Fernandes has no faith in his manager to lead his side to silverware and success.

However the 26-year-old has responded, also explaining the reason why Solskjaer substituted him halfway through the defeat to Tottenham.
