Paper Talk: Arsenal plotting City raid for perfect Arteta recruit; Spurs target experienced midfielder

Arsenal are planning moves in the January transfer window and are lining up a raid on Man City, while Tottenham have an experienced campaigner in their sights, all in the papers.

ARSENAL CHASE STONES

Arsenal are mulling over a move for Manchester City defender John Stones, says a report.

Eurosport claim the Gunners are looking to sign a new centre-half  in January to further bolster Mikel Arteta’s defence.

Arteta knows Stones well from his time as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at City. Arteta believes Stones is a perfect fit for his side’s style and his lacking of minutes at The Etihad may be enough to lure him south.

Arsenal have apparently been asked to be kept informed about the 26-year-old’s situation.

Arteta has revealed that he is planning for new arrivals with Edu.

“We are planning, talking with Edu and with the club about the things we can do in January,” said Arteta.
