Paper Talk: Leeds among three keen, as Man Utd face battle to keep star in January; New deals for Man City pair

Manchester United could field interest in one star from three clubs in January, while Manchester City want new contracts for a key pair – all in the latest Paper Talk.

HENDERSON WANTS MAN UTD LOAN

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson wants to move out of the club on loan in January, according to a report.

The 23-year-old has only played three times since his move back to Old Trafford in recent months. But he is yet to start in the Premier League, with David de Gea United’s firm No 1.

Indeed, his only appearances have come in the Carabao Cup and the Champions League. But should United progress in both competitions, it is likely that De Gea will maintain his spot.

As such, The Sun on Sunday claims that Henderson would ‘jump at’ the chance to secure more game time. Chief among the stopper’s concerns are his place in the England squad.

The goalkeeper earned his first cap recently but knows that, without game time, Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate could look elsewhere.

What’s more, the newspaper notes three other players who could feasibly take his place. Sheffield United’s Aaron Ramsdale, Aston Villa’s Sam Johnstone and Alex McCarthy of Southampton are all playing regular Premier League football.

As such, Henderson is reportedly ‘kicking his heels’ and becoming ‘impatient’.

As for where he could move to, The Sun on Sunday says that Leeds and Brighton could look at a swoop. Bournemouth have also registered initial interest.

But while the Red Devils may face a battle to keep Henderson in January, it is United who will have the final say on his future.
