Paper Talk: Liverpool now in pole position for £70m centre-back; Solskjaer gives green light for £50m transfer

Liverpool are in pole position to land £70million centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given Man Utd the green light to go and spend £50million on Jack Grealish, all in the papers.

Liverpool are serious about signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who starred against them in the Champions League this season.

And Le10 Sport report that Jurgen Klopp is in pole position to land the powerful centre-back after Paris Saint-Germain pulled out of a prospective move. Instead PSG are focused on securing Thiago Silva to a contract extension instead.

The Senegal defender has been linked with a move away from the Serie A club for the last couple of seasons, but this summer looks like being his last in Italy despite being under contract until 2023.

The report from France claims the 28-year-old’s preference is a move to England and Klopp is apparently desperate to pair him with Virgil van Dijk with Dejan Lovren heading out of the Anfield exit door this summer.

Newcastle United are also said to be interested in £70m-rated Koulibaly, but they will have to wait until their proposed takeover is completed before they can make a move in the transfer market.
