Paper Talk: Man Utd finally make Grealish, Maddison transfer choice; Bayern to pay £60m for Man City star

Man Utd have made their choice over a move for Jack Grealish or James Maddison, while Bayern Munich are only willing to pay £60m for a Man City star, according to Friday’s paper gossip.

MAN UTD MAKE MIDFIELD PLAYMAKER DECISION

Manchester United would reportedly prefer to sign Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish instead of Leicester midfielder James Maddison this summer.

The Manchester Evening News reports that the Red Devils believe they can secure Grealish’s services for a cut-price fee, if Villa are relegated from the Premier League.

Maddison has long been on United’s radar, but Leicester do not believe their valuation of a prized asset will be met amid the chaos caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The England playmaker is contracted to Leicester until 2023 and the Foxes rate the attacker at around £80million after another impressive campaign at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester bought Maddison, who has nine goals this season, from Norwich City for £24million in 2018 and he won his first cap for his country back in November.

Grealish, meanwhile, is on the brink of Gareth Southgate’s England squad and is currently tied to his boyhood club for another three years – although one teammate thinks he has outgrown the club.

However, should Dean Smith’s men go down, when the season eventually resumes, then the 24-year-old could be available for a figure that is around half of the price of Maddison.
