Manchester United are ready to take two players from Barcelona in January, with five of their stars up for grabs, while three Chelsea players have been linked with the same club, according to Saturday’s transfer gossip.
BARCELONA PAIR TIPPED FOR JANUARY MOVE TO MAN UTD
Manchester United are reportedly ready to take two players from Barcelona in January in a bid to provide a quick fix to their side.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United spent most of the summer trying to sign Jadon Sancho; efforts which ultimately proved unsuccessful.
The United boss, however, remains determined to strengthen his right wing. While he did land Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri, the duo are seen as stars of the future. Indeed, Solskjaer has already gone back on a promise to Penarol over his plans for Pellistri.
However, United could have some good news on the horizon. Reports in Spain claim Barcelona are looking to offload five big-name stars in January – two of which could be headed to Old Trafford.
As per the Daily Express, via Mundo Deportivo, United are ready to try again to bring in Ousmane Dembele. The winger rejected a deadline day move to Old Trafford, but it’s now claimed the move could be resurrected.
The France star remains a long way down Koeman’s thinking and it’s reported he could be allowed to join United on an initial loan. Barca would prefer a cash sale, but would consider a loan deal if that suited both parties.
UMTITI ALSO WANTED
United may not stop with Dembele either. The same report claims United could fix another problem position in the centre of defence with Samuel Umtiti also in their sights.
The Frenchman has endured plenty of injury issues over the past couple of years. However, a move to Old Trafford would be a fresh start. A loan deal has also been mooted, but it’s claimed he may be allowed to leave on a free.
As well as those two, Barcelona are also making another trio available. As per Mundo Deportivo, Carlos Alena, Martin Braithwaite and Junior Firpo will also be shown the door.
