Paper Talk: Man Utd’s huge Sancho deal hangs on perilous Man City tightrope; PSG eye summer Tottenham raid

Manchester City could play a huge part in deciding Jadon Sancho’s fate this summer, while Paris Saint-Germain want to raid Tottenham at the end of the season – all in the latest Paper Talk.

Manchester City’s fate in Europe is set to play a huge part in Manchester United‘s chase for Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

United have been tracking Jadon Sancho since last summer and their interest in the Borussia Dortmund winger has spiralled since missing out on a deal at the end of last season.

The 19-year-old is Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top target but he will not come cheap, with Dortmund demanding over £100million for his signature – according to the Sunday Mirror.

Such a price tag is potentially a problem for United – if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League – which will hand them an extra £50million, a welcome bonus after announcing rising debts earlier in the week.

As such, the newspaper claims that fifth-placed United’s hopes of signing Sancho will depend largely on whether City’s two-year European ban – imposed in February – is upheld, with City’s appeal to be heard between June 8-10.

United were unbeaten in 11 matches – five in the Premier League – before the season was brought to a halt and if the ban is upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, a fifth-placed finish would send the Red Devils into the Champions League.

Of course, Solskjaer’s side will look to qualify for the competition on their own terms but it would be a huge boost if City remain banned from European competition for the next two seasons.
