Paper Talk: Tottenham in talks over double deal as six prepare to go

Tottenham are in talks to sign two new defenders, but six are expected to move on before Monday’s deadline, while Paul Pogba is trying to lure a big-money Man Utd target to Old Trafford, according to Saturday’s paper gossip.

SPURS TALKS FOR RUDIGER, SKRINIAR

Tottenham are reportedly in talks over deals for both Milan Skriniar and Antonio Rudiger before Monday’s deadline.

Jose Mourinho is looking to bolster his central defensive options and could yet sign BOTH top targets. In reality, Mourinho will hope to get his hands on either of the defenders.

Inter defender Skriniar is the top target, with the Spurs boss tracking him from his days at Man Utd.

But Rudiger is also an option too. We exclusively revealed earlier this week how the defender had refused to play against Spurs in the Carabao Cup.

As per the Daily Express, citing Fabrizio Romano, talks are ongoing over deals for the duo.

“Still nothing advanced for Toni Rudiger – Skriniar is the main target but deal with Inter is still ‘complicated’,” Romano said.

“Inter would accept €50m + add ons but there’s still no agreement.”

Despite losing his place in Antonio Conte’s side, Inter insist they want to keep the defender.

“We reiterated that Skriniar is not on the market and no offers have arrived in this sense,” sporting director Piero Ausilio said. “Rather than reiterating that he will stay here, I don’t know what to say!”

Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that Spurs could help fund the signings by offloading five players.

As per Football London, Danny Rose, Juan Foyth, Serge Aurier, Ryan Sessegnon and Cameron Carter-Vickers could be on the move.

A sixth, more surprisising exit, though has been mooted in the shape of trusty goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga. He deputised for Hugo Lloris last season, but appears to have slipped to third choice behind Joe Hart.
