Sancho waiting for ‘realistic’ Man Utd offer before triggering Dortmund exit

Jadon Sancho is reportedly willing to tell Borussia Dortmund he wants to move to Manchester United if the Red Devils make a “realistic offer” for the winger.

United’s pursuit of England international Sancho has cooled in recent days amid a standoff over his exit fee.

Dortmund are insistent on their £108million valuation, a price United feel is unrealistic amid the financial impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

As such, negotiations have slowed between both sides, despite United and Sancho agreeing terms.

Previous reports claimed Sancho is willing to force through a move to Old Trafford. Now, Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol backs up such speculation in the event that United make a decent offer.

“Jadon Sancho came on as a second-half substitute on Sunday, scoring and setting up three goals in Borussia Dortmund’s 11-2 win against Austria Vienna,” Solhekol said.

“As far as Dortmund are concerned he is staying for at least one more season, but Manchester United remain in talks with the player’s representatives with the blessing of Dortmund.

“United have still not made an official offer for Sancho.

“If they make a realistic offer – close to Dortmund’s €120m (£108m) asking price – it is thought that Sancho would be willing to tell Dortmund that he wants to leave.”

Sancho has begun pre-season after ending last season with his best statistics in front of goal.

The 20-year-old scored 20 goals and assisted 20 others in all competitions to see his stock rise significantly further.

Dortmund officials have made the recent standoff more concrete with public statements. Indeed, sporting director Michael Zorc revealed as such in a press conference last Monday.

Later last week, CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke insisted again that Sancho will not leave this summer.
