Tanguy Ndombele linked with shock move to Barcelona as Tottenham star’s relationship with Jose Mourinho suffers another blow

Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is reportedly considering his future at the club following Jose Mourinho’s impromptu training session last week.

Mourinho was pictured putting Ndombele through a public training session in Barnet, on Tuesday.

With the UK currently in lockdown due to the coronavirus crisis, it attracted a great deal of criticism, including from ex-Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.

A report by L’Equipe, as quoted by the Daily Mail, claims Mourinho had knocked on Ndombele’s front door and asked the France international to join him for a run.

Ndombele obeyed his manager’s orders and put on his training kit. The pair were subsequently joined by Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon, who live in the same complex.

Mourinho was later reminded of his responsibilities by Tottenham, who released a statement warning players to respect social distancing when exercising.

Give COVID-19 the red card

The quicker we work together to stop coronavirus spreading, the sooner we can get back into the pubs, the gyms and stadiums and arenas to see live sport again…

STAY AT HOME. Only leave for the following purposes:

  • to shop for basic essentials – only when you really need to
  • to do one form of exercise a day – such as a run, walk or cycle, alone or with other people you live with
  • for any medical need – for example, to visit a pharmacy or deliver essential supplies to a vulnerable person
  • to travel to and from work – but only where this is absolutely necessary

The government has also issued further detail on what we can do during lockdown.

Everyone should do what they can to stop coronavirus spreading.

Ndombele joined Spurs for a club record fee of £55million but has really struggled in his first season in England. He showed initial promise but he has been criticised for his lack of fitness and effort on the pitch.

In February, Mourinho revealed his frustration at the number of injuries Ndombele had sustained before publicly criticising his performance and work-ethic in a Premier League match against Burnley in March.

And this latest episode has reportedly led to the 22-year-old considering his future at Spurs.

Reports in Spain, as quoted by the Daily Mail, suggest that the LaLiga giants could launch a summer bid for Ndombele if his relationship with Spurs boss Mourinho doesn’t improve.
