Tottenham, Chelsea raids eyed as Bayern step up marquee signing plans

Bayern Munich have Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and Chelsea’s Tiemoue Bakayoko on their radar as they look to replace Thiago Alcantara, according to a report.

Thiago looks likely to leave Bayern in the coming months after turning down a new contract with the German champions.

Previous reports claim Liverpool are keen, but TEAMtalk understands the Reds are not eyeing a move for the Spaniard.

Nevertheless, Le10 Sport claims Bayern are preparing for Thiago’s exit by sounding out replacements.

The Bavarians are aware that they will need midfield recruits given that, as well as Thiago, Javi Martinez and Corentin Tolisso could move on before next season.

Therefore, Bayern are reportedly keen on Ndombele and Bakayoko and could propose a loan deal to sign either player.

Indeed, Bayern have a history of exciting loan moves from signing Philippe Coutinho and James Rodriguez in the past.

Ndombele has struggled to settle at Spurs in his debut season as the club’s record signing, with Juventus and Barcelona reportedly keen.

Jose Mourinho lost his cool with Ndombele in March, but earlier this month backed the Frenchman to come good.

BAKAYOKO ALSO EYED

Bakayoko, meanwhile, will likely leave Chelsea before next season. The midfielder, who spent the season on loan with Monaco, does not fit into Frank Lampard’s plans.

The 25-year-old has returned to Stamford Bridge after Monaco decided not to activate the purchase clause in his deal.

Le10 Sport adds that Chelsea hope to earn €35million (£31million) from his sale.

However, should Bayern not sign Bakayoko, the Frenchman reportedly has suitors across Europe.

CHELSEA EYE KEPA, OBLAK SWAP?

Elsewhere, reports claim Chelsea want Jan Oblak to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga in a player-plus-cash transfer.

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Oblak has established himself as one of the best in the world, with Kepa – the most expensive in his position – not reaching the heights expected for Chelsea this season.

As such, the Daily Mirror claims Chelsea are keen on going like-for-like with a swap for Slovenia international Oblak.
