Tottenham pondering shock move to partner Kane with proven Premier League hotshot

Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Southampton striker Danny Ings in a shock swoop this summer.

Football London claims that Spurs have a ‘long-standing’ interest in the forward, as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his attack.

However, they are working on a limited budget, which will almost certainly harm their chances of doing a deal.

Ings notched 22 goals last season and would be more of a partner for Harry Kane than a back-up.

The problem for Tottenham is that Saints would demand top dollar, and the north London club are not in a position to pay it.

Mourinho’s men take on Ings and Southampton in their next Premier League outing on Sunday.

Kumbulla enjoyed a breakout season in Serie A in 2019-20, making 25 appearances in his maiden top flight campaign.

Verona exceeded expectations to finish in the top half in their first season after winning promotion – and their defence was a major factor in that.

Kumbulla was one of the standout components, and the 20-year-old has attracted interest from a number of clubs.

As far back as January, the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea were suggested as potential suitors – as well as Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City. But since then, Tottenham have stepped forward. Read more…
