Arsenal are leading the pursuit for Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey after tabling a £43.5m bid for the midfielder. Mikel Arteta is desperate to rebuild his Gunners side after a turbulent season in north London and reports in Spain claim the Ghanaian is just ‘one step away’ from joining the club. Manchester United are looking to lure £135-rated Saul Niguez away from Atletico Madrid by offering him ‘£85,000-a-week more’ than what he is currently earning. Chelsea are lining up a move for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana with the stopper said to be available in the summer for £25m. Frank Lampard is ready to sell club-record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer after he failed to impress during the club legend’s first season in charge. Arsenal have been handed a massive boost in acquiring long-term transfer target Thomas Lemar, with Atletico Madrid ready to offload the France forward this summer. The winger has fallen out of favour in Spain following his £63.2m transfer from Monaco in 2018 and reports in Spain suggest they are looking to sell the player in order to finance moves elsewhere. Manchester United and Real Madrid’s hopes of activating Erling Braut Haaland’s release clause this summer have been scrapped after reports suggest it does not come into play until 2022. Both European giants were interested in signing the Norwegian forward in January but he opted for a move to Borussia Dortmund, where he has netted a staggering nine goals in five league appearances.
