Zlatan Ibrahimovic addresses AC Milan future after Radrizzani admission

Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he is unsure about his AC Milan future less than a day after Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani revealed past interest in the striker.

The 38-year-old is still banging in the Serie A goals with eight in 17 games, and scoring a brace as Milan beat 10-man Sassuolo 2-1 in Serie A on Tuesday.

Milan have just three games remaining with Ibrahimovic’s contract expiring at the end of the season.

The Rossoneri have announced an extension for head coach Stefano Pioli until 2022, but it’s unclear yet what the future will hold for Zlatan.

“I still have three games, still 10 days, nobody said anything to me and I don’t expect anything else,” he said, via Sky Sport Italia.

“There are things that we cannot control, but that seem strange to me, but we are doing great things. We play with great confidence and we believe in what we do.

“I’m working, I’m fine, the team is fine and doing good things. When I arrived we are second or third in the standings, it means it is not bad.”

‘I think it’s too late’

Meanwhile Radrizzani, fresh from seeing Leeds promoted to the Premier League, has admitted the Whites made an approach for Zlatan in January.

The powerful striker instead chose Milan and Leeds signed Jean-Kevin Augustin, who made just three sub appearances in the Championship.

Leeds will need to add some firepower to their squad, with Marcelo Bielsa heavily reliant on Patrick Bamford this season.

However, the owner cast doubt on another approach for the Swedish star.

“Ibrahimovic will certainly be difficult,” he told Sky Sport Italia, as cited by the Daily Mail.

“We tried to sign him in January, but he chose to join Milan and the deal vanished.

“Now I think it’s too late, the intensity of English football is different.”
